We were fans of the TV series Deadwood, so this cemetery was of particular interest to us. We decided to take a tour to get our bearings of the town, so that provided us with a great overview of the cemetery. We later drove up...More

Just visited in mid Nov. The Tourist information was closed, so didn't pay any fee. Be prepared for an up and down hike especially if you want to see Mr Seth Bullock about 250 yards up the hill from the main cemetery. It'll make you...More

What a wonderful, peaceful place. We did a nice hike up to the cemetery to see the graves of Wild Bill/Calamity Jane, and got more than we expected. Wintertime and wildlife.

The cemetery is well mapped and marked out. Easy to get around, even with a bit of snow on the ground. We were glad to visit during the off-season when there was hardly a soul there... we had a quiet time visiting the grave's of...More

This was worth the trip up the hill to see. Some nice views of Deadwood and surrounding areas were available. This is not a free cemetery, there is a small fee. A map was provided and was very informative and essential for finding all the...More

You definitely need your walking shoes and not have a heart condition. The walk around is very hilly and could present problems for some, especially the walk up to Seth Bullocks grave. Great views down on Deadwood from numerous locations. Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane...More

Excellent tour of Wild Bill and Calamity Jane's final resting spot given by local tour operator located by saloon #10 on main street. Very informative and well narrated. After the tour take in the Wild Bill Hickok shooting in the bar, very well done.

Our Deadwood bus tour stopped here. The guide was very knowledgeable. I recommend picking up the cemetery newspaper guide (at visitors center) which has a map and great descriptions of people who are buried in this cemetery.

The entire cemetery is on a hillside. The walkways can be steep, but much of it is paved, so perhaps a wheelchair could be used.

I haven't been in winter, but I can tell you the road to get up to the cemetery was a small winding road so if there is snow or ice, it would probably be treacherous. I've just moved to MT from the South and it seems that... More

We did not take it, but there is a tour bus that makes the trip there. However it is right in town, and there is plenty of free parking at the cemetery.
