History of sheep in South Dakota

Toured sheep exhibit. Very extensive. Past and present techniques shown. Good explanations and a few souvenirs to purchase. Worth the hour or so that we had to spend there.

The South Dakota State Ag Heritage Museum was very interesting and larger inside than it looks on the outside. Cute gift shop. The exhibits cover livestock, land, farm, machinery history of the region. This is a great place for all ages to visit. There are hands-on exhibits for the kids and interpretative programs. Really enjoyed our time there ... spent... More

I visited the museum for the opening of their "Unspun Tale: Sheep in South Dakota" opening last week. I was impressed with the permanent exhibition and especially enjoyed the exhibit about sheep. I learned so much about how wool and meat are produced. There were interactive elements for kids and some really unusual things - like a big sheep wagon!... More

by how much I enjoyed this museum. I don't have much of an interest in agriculture but I decided to give this museum a try. I am so glad I did. I was impressed with the range of information and the quality of the exhibits. This museum is top notch.

We visited here on a weekend and had the place to ourselves. It was fun to see some variety of tractors and tools many of which were invented in SD. Was hoping for some more hands-on exhibits. Good quick stop on campus.

Great place for children to learn about farm life. Walk through and inside displays of a farm home and the tools used on the farm. Farm animal displays as well!! We have been there for special nights when the museum hosts specialty guest speakers. One was all about Bees. We took our daughter and we all learned something. There is... More

I don't think you need to be a farmer to find this place interesting. It's not mind blowing, but a cool look into the past.
