Very much so enjoyed our trip to the Charleston Tea Plantation! It is really awesome that this is the only tea farm in the US! free samples of all the tea hot and cold that you can drink! We did the free tour of the plant-it was cool to see how they make tea! We walked around the grounds a... More

This was FUN! So informative, and what a great story behind it all. We are huge tea lovers, and we are now converts to supporting American grown tea from here! Staff is nice and very helpful and informative. Relax, enjoy, and have a cuppa!!!

We visited with our son and our three year old grandson on a perfect late Spring day. My grandson and I stayed on the porch rocking in the chairs and enjoying the breeze. I was sipping delicious complimentary iced mint tea. Meanwhile "the men" of our group went on the walking tour to see how the tea is processed. They... More

We recently visited and it was very interesting to learn about tea and how it's grown. The free tour shares a lot of information about the tea process. They have a great gift shop for everyone. Worth the visit!

If in the area, don't fail to visit. It is a pleasant drive to the plantation and once inside the gift shop/plant, they have several flavors of tea available to test. Sadly, you have to use Styrofoam or paper cups, but they are full size. As another reviewer has pointed out, it is the only tea plantation in North America.... More

The tea tour includes a free tour inside the factory. You don't see any of the process in action. You just stop at 3 or 4 tv screens for a total of 10 minutes to find out about the process of harvesting tea and the process to get it to market. It's interesting, but young kids will be bored. We... While the plantation was nice to see and the self guided tour was informative, the entire experience felt watered down. There could be so much more...line wasn't going when we took factory tour so that was a shame. All in all, it was just a big gift shop with a video explaining the process.

We wanted to find something different from the usual tours, touristy things to do, and this certainly fit the bill! They offer a free tour of the making of teas, conducted by video with the big machinery through a glass wall so you can see what they are referring too in the video. They also have a tour of the... We were about the only people there who did not arrive on a tour bus. But the history, tour of property and glimpse into the factory were an interesting side trip on our bike tour.

This tea plantation and the angel oak tree are about 20 mins. from charleston and well worth the drive. The plantation is still working and the trolley ride is very educational. the gift shop is fun with every tea item possible and free tea tastings to boot! The tea is delicious!
