The Charleston Tea Plantation is the home of American Classic Tea, tea grown in America. It is located on picturesque Wadmalaw Island in the heart of South Carolina's Lowcountry. Its grounds include 127 acres of Camellia Sinensis tea plants, a working Tea Factory and a charming Plantation Gift Shoppe. Also available to guests is an adventurous and educational Trolley Tour that explores the scenic grounds that produce American Classic Tea. Complimentary tea is served to visitors throughout the day

This is the only tea plantation/farm in the US. Since they hadn't harvested tea yet, we watched a video about the processing of tea. There is tram tour of the fields where they explain the history and process. Our guide was excellent.More

First cutting is end of April first part of May and they cut every twenty days until October . Trolley sets out every hour

You only get off the trolley once and at that stop you’re briefly outside walking from the trolley into a greenhouse. You wouldn’t be exposed to the weather long. The trolley windows are glass and can be kept closed. I don’t... More
