Ask questions of the staff; they are full of knowledge. The gentleman in the map area was fun to talk to about the map collection. Across the courtyard in the science section is a nice variety of reptiles. Grandma (me!) held a snake for the first time while my granddaughter petted it. All in all, a fun outing.

This museum is full of great artifacts and facts about Spartanburg County. This would be a fun stop for visitors to the area as well as an educational stop for locals. Don't miss out on our area heritage. Go!

Ran in to the Spartanburg history museum after visiting the Art hall next to it. The history museum was very very interesting. We spent much longer in here than the art hall. We've lived in the area only about 2.5 years and it was very educational. We knew some history but this really filled in the gaps. Go search out... More

My group of 3 took the 1hr downtown Spartanburg History walking tour booked through the museum. The tour guide Julius was knowledgeable and interesting. The tour ended up at the museum which we covered in about 20 minutes or so. The Museum is small but worthwhile with some interesting displays and artifacts of Spartanburg history.

Spartanburg Museum of History is chock full of information on the area. In the past local cotton mill's were the economic boom that kept Spartanburg County thriving, there is a lot of history that is interesting to learn about if you are just visiting or live here. It's worth the trip to go find out more about what the museum... More

The museum is in a beautiful new space. I wish they had built it larger to include more information. Better than when it was at the library on Pine I guess.

The museum is very nice for what there is. I was expecting a larger museum withh more information. However, I must stay the staff was 100% committed in having youget as much as you can from what is there. 1 hour visit and you will learn much about Spartanburg.
