We stayed in the campgrounds (tented) in March, when the nightly temperatures were in the 30's. It was comfortable, despite the cold, as it was easy to use the electrical outlets and designated campfire area. The bathrooms were clean, close, and HEATED! The staff was...More

We love camping in Eastern South Carolina and love kayaking. Givhan's Ferry is all over the Internet as Colleton SP's sister park for kayakers. You know how they say sisters can be opposites? Colleton is a smaller park, but run very well under the supervision...More

We stayed here before hurricane Matthew came through so our stay was cut short. It is a very nice campground with roomy sites and very clean bathrooms. The hosts (daytime and nite-time) were very helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed kayaking on the river. The...More

I loved this park. The camping area was just fine for me. I had site 17 but would try to get one with more shade during the summer. I loved all of the wildlife including an owl, turtle, frogs, and one unwanted copperhead that showed...More

Givhans is a small State park. It is well maintained with older, but clean, restrooms. The Edisto river runs through the park and was popular with kayakers and tubing. A nice place for camping or birthday parties.

Quiet place. Mostly level gravel sites ours had full hookups with 30 amp service. Somewhat limited cell service, and the only wifi was at the pavilion - did not try it. Over the air tv was okay.

Set along the Edisto River, this park has much to offer. RV and primitive camping. Rustic cabins. Access for canoeing and kayaking. Most impressive is the Riverfront Hall on a bluff above the river. Built in the 1930s by the CCC, this building has a...More

We stopped by this state park and looked around for something to do because, after all, when you stop to get the stamp you should do something significant. Turns out, they have a 1.5 mile nature trail. Well, we entered from what seemed like the...More

Does the Park Ranger come door to door to check on everyone? Just wondering if it's that pleasant to have alone time and not having to answer the door for the park ranger everyday

Park Ranger did not go door to door when we were there. However, we would see them ride by and they were very accessible if needed. Hope that helps.
