One of the anchor's of the Myrtle Beach oceanfront, the Gay Dolphin has delighted generations of customers since 1946. The most unique gift shop on the Grand Strand, it has twenty-six thousand square feet of fun spread over seven levels. Located directly on the new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk between Mr. Joe White Avenue and 9th Avenue North, just south of Plyler Park.

The Gay Dolphin is now wheelchair accessible! An elevator lift was installed in March/April of 2015, which allows wheelchair access to 85% - 90% of the store.

This store never seems to end! Multiple floors to explore and something to please everyone: roosters, myrtle beach items, crabs, piggy banks, shark teeth, etc. Only draw back is that it's not accessible for anyone in a wheelchair or mobility issues, and the lift for people with strollers is very sketchy. Check the stores near by before buying anything ocean... More

If you can't find it here, it doesn't exist! Every souvenir you can think of, plus SHELLS out the wahzoo! Several floors of fun, seriously, allow at least an hour to see even part of it! Fun place & reasonable prices. Antiques & civil war what-nots too.

This gift shop is a Myrtle Beach icon....and has been here for decades. They offer every type of tourist souvenir imaginable...and then some! The employees are friendly and helpful...but the store is so large it can be a bit overwhelming. The multiple levels make it hard to keep track of where you have already been....and items are literally displayed nearly... More

This shop is located on the Boardwalk and has floor after floor of gifts and souvenirs........You can get lost inside!! I never saw a shop this large, enjoyable way to pass a rainy or cold day.

Visited the store on Christmas eve day. We found parking close for $5 fee for the day. We really enjoyed the Gay Dolphin, what a large store. We found some cute Myrtle beach Christmas ornaments. It is so muich bigger inside, fun for the family shopping for treasures.

We visit every year in December. It's a destination when we do the Boardwalk. There are thousands of gifts and souvenirs here-- everything from the cheap and kitschy to the expensive arty stuff. Since it is multiple levels, is easy to spend a few hours here looking for the perfect keepsake or gift for friends. Every year, we buy for... More

There is so much to look at in this store! There is a little bit of everything ocean related. Prices range from cheap-pricey, depending on your budget and what catches your eye. It is definitely worth the stop. The young man at the register epitomizes southern hospitality. Will definitely remember this store for future visits.
