Great beach with boardwalk from the parking lot. Good bathrooms and a convenient outside shower to rinse sand from the beach. Several picnic areas. Atalaya castle is worth the small admission fee to see where the Huntington's spent their winters and where Anna Huntington did most of her sculptures. A must see for Brookgreen Garden visitors.

Love this park, have come several times over the years. Love seeing alligators, great and small, as well as so many wonderful shorebirds. Sometimes you can see a Painting Bunting. There's a great little Visitor Center with good restrooms, also great exhibits inside including a touch tank. There's a long board walk leading out into the marsh area which is... More

We have stayed in hotels on the Grand Strand and the Huntington Beach State Park is a great find to get away from the crowds. There is a causeway with great nature viewing, a nature center with educational programs, rest rooms, gift store, ice cream stand, viewing area and an old fort to explore. A nice place for the family... More

This is a wonderful state park. The beach is so lovely and facilities were good. Lots of people fishing and some in the ocean in spite of the cold water.

There is so much to do at Huntington. The kids always want to go to the educational center first. The staff is very inviting and extremely knowledgable. On our most recent trip we were treated to a view of the bald eagle nest and the babies! The education center had a scope set up so we got the best view... More

We saw three huge alligators and very close to the walkway. Very impressive. Still talking about it. We walked on the park trail and then on the beach and around the old fortress.

We had a great time on the nature hike (very easy walk in the shade) and had a picnic lunch midway. My 4 year old was amazed at the alligator that was hanging out near the road/walkway. It was interesting learning about the different types of crab and shrimp. There were various types of birds and many people with higher... More
