We spent a few hours at this state park during our trip to Myrtle Beach. The beach is massive with few people, which was awesome! The park itself looked nice with several hiking trails to chose from. The only down side was the admission price ($16 for 4 of us) for only a couple hours of use. If you are... More

I've been to HBSP many times over the past few years. It still remains on of my most favorite state parks I've ever visited. I went several times in mid June with my wife and two daughters. Everyone loved the beach at the north end of the park - beautiful sand, lots of space and not crowded. Everyone really enjoyed... More

The wide pristine beach welcomes visitors. The state park is a micro-ecological environment. Wildlife abounds from exotic birds to alligators. Beautiful campsites add to this wonderful park.

Pristine, untouched beaches for miles, swimming is permitted though there are no lifeguards and it is very untouched, although there are restrooms. A great place to see a ton of alligators too! Lots of walking paths and and old mansion that you can walk through for a small fee. There's also a nice nature center that is air conditioned and... More

Murrels Inlet is a short drive from the crowds of Myrtle beach.Take the cooler and enjoy the wide stance of open shoreline with clean restrooms and showers for getting the great sand off.

I took my dog to the beach at this state park. It was his first visit to the ocean. Not sure if he liked it or not. This was a beautiful state park and the beach was empty which was great.
