Beach day

One of the nicest beaches in South Carolina. It's quiet, pet friendly and a quick walk from the parking lot

Been coming here for over 23 years. We started out tent camping and made our way to RV's. This place is one of the must visit state parks. You are just yards from the beach, and can even here the waves at night. We come every year in early May. Dogs are allowed off leash 7-9AM, so they can go... More

Huntington Beach State Park is a wonderland of things to do....There are tons of birds, alligators, plants, historical areas and the beach. The facilities here are top-notch. It is a very popular place for bird-watching and photographers....and you will likely see an alligator or two as you drive over the bridge to enter the park. The beach is set up... More

Great park to watch for alligators and walk the piers out into the marshes. Nature trails, great beaches and an old beachside mansion are cool to view. Rest rooms and gift shop make it a great stop for as long as you wish.

This park has something for everyone. We only spent an hour or so due to other commitments, but we still have a great time getting closure to nature. We saw many different types of birds and two alligators. The park and clean and well organized. I can not wait to go back.

Visit Atalaya, the Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington Beach Home. Unique architecture, great docents, and an interesting history. Go to the North end for a quieter beach experience, especially in the high season when school is out. Look for shells on that beach. Visit the Nature Center where you may see beautiful birds. When we were there, we saw painted... More

We spent an afternoon exploring Atalaya and the rest of the park. We saw an alligator. That was super exciting. The beach is gorgeous and we could have easily spent the whole day there. Atalaya is very interesting and definitely worth a look.

Atalaya really is worth seeing even if you have to pay $2 (WOW) The nature walks are nice also. We were here on a day trip but it looks like it would be nice to camp here.

Huntington Beach State Park is a great place for fun, relaxation and education. Located on the South Strand, as the locals call it, it is a wonderful destination for beach-goers and campers. The beach is a short walk from the parking area and is a tranquil place where one can easily relax to the sounds of the mighty Atlantic as... More

The main reason for our visit was to tour the home of the Huntingtons which is one of the main features of the park. We can't comment on the other aspects of the park. The home was built to resemble a Morrish fortress so the aesthetics are not overwhelming. The attractive element is the verde wrought iron grills over the... More
