Was able to bring my dog to the beach in the water and everything. Hard to find on this road trip. Such beautiful water, clean beaches and lovely park. Even the people on the beach, also tourists that I talked to, were so nice. Kids...More

Everyone will love Huntington State Park. The beaches go for miles and there are no condos, buildings or homes anywhere, so all you see is crystal waters and sand dunes. Camping is always fun here and Atalaya Castle is an interesting landmark.

We are locals who live in Pawleys Island. Parking can be limited on PI so we tried HBSP. We purchased the yearly pass for around $75 that gives you access to all sc state parks. The beach was big and pretty, and we've had no...More

We too wanted something different to do on our last day in the area! The beach looked lovely and we wished we had planned to swim! (Next time!). The boardwalk marsh was fascinating to all our ages 4 - 71! The only disappointment was finding...More

This is one of the finest beaches I have ever been at. We felt like we had the beach to ourselves. The wind was wonderful, white sand, sand grass, and very well maintained. The walk through the marsh was fascinating at dusk.

The staff was so knowledgeable and friendly. I could almost imagine being there as a retreat and the sound of the ocean was soothing.

Another state beach which is stunning. Beaches are clean and patrolled frequently by rescue staff. Yes shells for the collectors and shark teeth. Remnants of previous structures with interesting history. Gift shop located on premises with all your beach needs. Entry to park $5.

Which is the best picnic shelter to reserve close to the ocean but not a long walking distance from the parking area? Looking at a small wedding in September and need a location for older guest to sit for a short ceremony in the sand prior to the event.

There are nice covered picnic tables near the boardwalk that leads to the beach from the parking lot. Not a long walk!!

What is the temp like in mid-april? Is it warm enough for the kids to enjoy swimming? Would they burn by the sun at that time of year?
