We are locals who live in Pawleys Island. Parking can be limited on PI so we tried HBSP. We purchased the yearly pass for around $75 that gives you access to all sc state parks. The beach was big and pretty, and we've had no problem parking this Memorial Day weekend. Looks like there are lots of places to camp... More

We too wanted something different to do on our last day in the area! The beach looked lovely and we wished we had planned to swim! (Next time!). The boardwalk marsh was fascinating to all our ages 4 - 71! The only disappointment was finding that the learning center had had been struck by lightning and burned last year! We... More

My hubby and I wanted a break from the boardwalk and beaches in Myrtle Beach, so we drove down to check this park out. It's gorgeous! We beaches were far quieter and honestly - much prettier! We walked around a bit, exploring. We were fascinated by the hermit crabs and such when we followed the boardwalk out into the marsh.... More

This is one of the finest beaches I have ever been at. We felt like we had the beach to ourselves. The wind was wonderful, white sand, sand grass, and very well maintained. The walk through the marsh was fascinating at dusk.

The staff was so knowledgeable and friendly. I could almost imagine being there as a retreat and the sound of the ocean was soothing.

Another state beach which is stunning. Beaches are clean and patrolled frequently by rescue staff. Yes shells for the collectors and shark teeth. Remnants of previous structures with interesting history. Gift shop located on premises with all your beach needs. Entry to park $5.

Huntington Beach State Park is part of the South Carolina Parks systems. It has prestine beaches, friendly and helpful park staff. During the warmer months, there is a snack bar to get quick food and drinks. Ample parking is available. You can also tour Atalaya, the summer home of the Huntington's (this is also a fabulous place for family pictures,... More

Spent the day there with my grandchildren who had the time of their lives. This is one of the best State Parks in SC. Admission for residents is minimal and for Seniors even less! Plenty of beach (miles of it )with hiking and biking trails galore! It is constantly improving! Getting a camping site is difficult due to the demand.... More

This is a beautiful beach ($5.00 per person) and before the busy season, the crowds quickly thin out and the beach is almost deserted. Our dog loved the walk, and dogging the waves. The Huntington house, built during the Great Depression, is close to the ocean and interesting to visit for $2.00. It is all brick and huge, but no... More

Family favorite As you drive in look to your right. If it's a warm sunny day you are almost certain to see alligators in their natural habitat. There is a nice beach and campground . We have never stayed in the campground but there is one available. Do be aware of snacks. There is a walking/biking path and we came... More
