Management at Brookgreen Gardens ought to rename it Brookgreen Sculptures. At least that name would be an accurate representation of what to expect. We expected gardens with flowers. There were few flowers in bloom and most of those were almost dead. Instead, we saw lots of sculptures, which is fine if that's your thing. If we knew that, we would... More

We are sorry you were disappointed. We do have many flowers still blooming in the sculpture garden, such as foxgloves and snapdragons. We did have an early spring followed by a hard freeze which took out many of the azaleas that would normally be the predominant blooms in April. Unfortunately we have no control over the weather! Loved this place, what a treat to get away from all the craziness of the beach. So peaceful and relaxing. We walked from the welcome center to the zoo, then took the shuttle back. The volunteers that work there were so friendly and welcoming too. Your ticket is good for 7 days too so it is excellent value.

We went on the river cruise, it was so nice and the person explaining the areas, he knew his stuff, lady that sold the excursion tickets was very short and testy, was not nice to us ladies, but when the guys went back she was very pleasant to them, she said she had worked there 12 years, she was a... Nice scenery. Well maintained. enjoyed the walk with my daughter, an excellent place to take family pictures. The sculptures are life like and are throughout the plantation. Plenty to see and do to full an afternoon.

It was lovely and well maintained but had a lot of strange sculptures that didn't appeal to all 4 of us.

Brookgreen Gardens is, first and foremost, the premier outdoor sculpture garden in America. The sculptors whose works are part of our collection are noted American artists from the late 19th century through today. I'm sorry that part of Brookgreen didn't appeal to you. I hope your family took the opportunity to visit the Native Wildlife Zoo or take one of... More

What a beautiful place to spend a day wandering around through beautiful gardens, sculptures and wait a minute a zoo too! The walking tour of the garden was very informative. There are a few other tours offered also for a small fee, again very informative, however the information is duplicated on each tour. All in all a lovely relaxing away... More

I am definitely going back here again. Beautiful landscape, so much history. There is no way a person can see it all in one day.

Although I have visited Brookgreen Gardens a few times in the past, every time it seems there are more beautiful sites. The sculptures are amazing and the flowers and trees are amazing. We did the sculpture tour and learned much about the artists. A few days later we returned and took the pontoon boat ride out through the area where... More
