We happen to hit the park right as the sun was setting and it was beautiful and it was not even crowded. It is a nice little walking raised platform over the marsh and along the water, great for kids.

You will want to be near the creek when the shrimp boats come in. Dolphins and pelicans are everywhere to get the leftovers.

What a spectacular place to take in sunset over water and marsh. You will certainly view pelicans and other birds, and it is likely you’ll see a dolphin or two surface as well. Post sunset, there are several spots to have drinks, dinner or a...More

10 minutes from downtown, take the Ravenel bridge and Shem Creek is right where Vickerys, Reds, the Shelter and other restaurants are.

There might be places to crab in the Charleston area but not right on Shem Creek near the hotel. The best source for that information would be South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.
