Called the crown jewel of Mount Pleasant, Memorial Waterfront Park offers more than just your average park. Located under the grand entryway to the town, at the base of the Ravenel Bridge, this park has plenty of lawn for enjoying family picnics, a nautical-themed playground modeled after the bridge that provides shade and the boats that pass by in the harbor, and soft-serve ice cream from the River Watch Cafe. The cafe offers beautiful views of Charleston Harbor and a 1,250-foot-long pier where you can sit and swing a while. Memorial Waterfront Park is also home to the Sweetgrass Cultual Arts Pavilion, War Memorial and Visitor Center.

Beautiful park! We visited this park last August with our teenager kids. Great parking nearby with just a short walk to the park. We enjoyed all of the historical monuments and information. Very good for the whole family, both young and old. Many places to sit, rest, or just to enjoy the views of the harbor.

Informative visitors center and a cool fishing pier as well as the park itself make this a nice side trip to a visit to Charleston.

After an early morning walk to the first tower and back, I stopped by the waterfront park. There's a little restaurant at the beginning of the pier which serves reasonably priced fare, and I believe that they sell bait also, for those interested in fishing.

My kids love this park and playground. We actually threw out son's 4th bday there. It's in the shade (under the bridge) in the summer, which helps with the heat. Great views of the water!

This is a beautiful waterfront park in Mt. Pleasant just outside of Charleston. It has a long fishing pier, walk ways and a kids playground. It has an awesome view of the harbor and the ravenel bridge. We walked on the pier and looked into the water and saw three dolphins playing in the water. What a free treat! This... More

One of many wonderful things about Mt Pleasant is the public parks system. The Waterfront Park (under the Ravenel Bridge) is delightful. It is a pleasant walk to the end of the pier or you can sit and enjoy the scenery for hours. There is also a great little grill and gift shop on site. Parking is now free (there... More

We have stopped in occasionally for a nice short walk on the long pier ( much better than the opposite!) and a chance to watch the sunset. Well kept and a unique area to view the bridge. Aside from drinks, we haven't had anything from the cafe. As mentioned before, when looking for the parking lot, follow the signs. Nice... More

What a beautiful park - very stroller / kid friendly with playground. Fabulous long span pier - covered sitting areas with swings along the pier - beautiful view of the harbor - public restroom - gift shop - and operated by the US Park Service!

Don't miss this place! The views of the bridge are spectacular, and the adjacent visitors' center is great (closes at 5). Great place for a quiet break.
