Called the crown jewel of Mount Pleasant, Memorial Waterfront Park offers more than just your average park. Located under the grand entryway to the town, at the base of the Ravenel Bridge, this park has plenty of lawn for enjoying family picnics, a nautical-themed playground modeled after the bridge that provides shade and the boats that pass by in the harbor, and soft-serve ice cream from the River Watch Cafe. The cafe offers beautiful views of Charleston Harbor and a 1,250-foot-long pier where you can sit and swing a while. Memorial Waterfront Park is also home to the Sweetgrass Cultual Arts Pavilion, War Memorial and Visitor Center.

Attended a family party at the Sweetgrass Basket Pavilion at the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park and found it a wonderful place to host a party. A very nice patio and covered open-air pavilion for eating and entertaining. The riverfront boardwalk and a nice children's playground are a short walk for the restless and everything was clean and very up... More

A very good place to go for a stroll, relaxation, and learning about the history of this city. The view is fantastic. We went early morning on Sunday and really enjoyed it.

While the park isn't that big, it makes up for it with relaxing waterfront views. Sunset was so peaceful. There is a quaint little gift shop/ ice cream store and pier fishing available. Convenient bus stop and parking nearby. Super friendly staff. Within walking distance of Best Western. Most amazing and helpful visitor's center, ever. They bend over backward to... More

Stopped into the visitor center before going to Patriot's Point to see the Navy ships on MLK's Birthday. We spoke to Sandy. There are people who have a job and then there are people like Sandy who love their job. He couldn't have helped us more. He used several different maps to show us where to go. He used several... Went to the park after seeing a review of it on the NY Times. The park is lovely place to walk despite the racket coming from the bridge. There is a very nice memorial to Charleston/Mt. Pleasant people who have died in wartime. The walks are well maintained and clean. However, we do recommend that you not go out on... More

Beautiful park! We visited this park last August with our teenager kids. Great parking nearby with just a short walk to the park. We enjoyed all of the historical monuments and information. Very good for the whole family, both young and old. Many places to sit, rest, or just to enjoy the views of the harbor.
