This area is really overrated. The parking is terrible and the shops and food around the lighthouse are sub par, in my opinion. This was a waste of time.

We went on a very windy & cold day so we did not spend much time at the top of the lighthouse (we have 4 small kids). It's a pretty small place and not a ton to see, but it seemed worth it to see the iconic lighthouse of the island. If it had been a warmer day, I'm pretty... More

You really have to go see Harbor Town if you come to Hilton Head because the iconic key hole shaped marina with the red and white striped lighthouse is the iconic image of the island. It's not that tough to climb the 114 stair steps to the top of the lighthouse. The view is OK, not spectacular, but it's free... More

Privately built, not one of the old USCG lighthouses but well worth the visit to see it up close, climb to the top & enjoy the view. Most people only get to see it from their TV while viewing the golf tournament but it is accessible to the public. Worth the trip & the small fee to climb up to... More

Compared to several historical lighthouses that I have climbed over the years, this is very different but still worth visiting, especially with very young children who will have no problem getting to the stop. In addition, there is no charge for children 5 and under. It is a very small modern lighthouse but the view from the top is still... More

Nothing special here to see. The number of shops and dining options are underwhelming especially since you have to pay $6 to enter the property if you aren't a guest. There really isn't anything to do.

You have to pay $6 to drive into Sea Pines Resort. Can be interesting if you like to look at gated upscale communities. The Harbor and Lighthouse are rather sad at the moment. And the Lighthouse looks fake compared to many lighthouses along the East coast of the USA. It's on a river which seemed a little strange to me.... More

Visited there with wife. Very windy that day. Picture and information on each floor of the walk to the top. Information about area and about the golf championship that was started on Hilton Head Island.

We’ve brought guests here a number of times over the decades and have always enjoyed the marvelous scenery and excellent photo ops. Our recent visit was very disappointing, however, because there were no boats at all in the yacht basin/marina. The usually-photogenic basin was undergoing maintenance or repairs (perhaps undoing Hurricane Matthew damage?) and looked downright drab. I should have... More

You'll have to pay a fee to drive into the Sea Pines Resort and then another fee to climb the lighthouse, but it is well worthwhile. The spacious octagonal tower has multiple levels with displays related to the history of the area on each. There is a gift shop at both the bottom and top of the tower. Going out... More
