We stayed in sea pines during our vacation so the preserve was all around us. We saw alligators, herons, butterflies and pretty flowers. It is nice just to bike or walk around the trails. They are shaded and a nice break from the hot sun...More

Since the hurricane Matthew not all the forest preserve is open to guest. However, it was still a nice visit. We enjoy the driving tour and looking for the alligators in one of the 3 lakes.

You can drive into the preserve and park at the lakes. There is a boat, driven by a guide, that you can hop on to get a closeup view of the animals that live in and around the lakes. Or, you can walk or bike through the many... More

Yes, if you keep you pet on a leash and an eye open for the Gators!
