There are hiking trails that go past the bridge for adventurous ones, but the bridge is the main highlight. It is one of the oldest bridges in the state, and you can go over, around, and even under the bridge since there are plenty of rocks to walk on. If you are coming from Greenville, it will be on the... More

I love places off the beaten path and I love history. This stone bridge with it's beautiful arch framing a section of Little Gap Creek, satisfies both loves. It is well worth the visit even if you don't have time to do the nature trail.

A unique look back into time. Amazing craftsmanship that stands throughout time. Remote location and many backstories and legends abound.

Found this gem on tripadvisor. It is in a pretty remote location relative to downtown Greenville. Very easy to access with parking area across the road (it is not marked as parking but is just a little graveled looped road). My 15 year old INSISTED she had read about this bridge somewhere...that it was haunted. It was mentioned in the... More

Nice park setting off the beaten path. Historically significant covered bridge. Good signage. Not crowded. I wouldn't make a special trip to see it, but a pleasant break if you're in the neighborhood.

It's hard to call this an "attraction"--when Joel Poinsett (of eponymous flower fame) directed the building of this bridge it was intended to be nothing more than a tool enabling the movement of goods and services into the Blue Wall separating the agrarian Carolina coast from the slightly-more industrial uplands of Tennessee and beyond. (For a later, failed, attempt, see... More

We were out for a drive and thought, after seeing the sign for this site, why not find it? It was so BEAUTIFUL! A wonderful place to hike and/ or sit and meditate.

What a historic gem outside of Greenville SC on the old route to Asheville NC. About 18 miles outside of town built in 1820.

While I have visited many times during the day and enjoyed this local beauty, I do NOT recommend going near dusk/after dark. Very haunted. May have trouble starting car, feel creepy vibes, etc. During the daytime, it is a popular place to take photos (peak times for this are weekends and school holidays), so you may need to wait a...
