Cozy, opinionated "museum" full to the brim of old relics, photos, guns, cannonballs, and paintings of Gen. Lee and Gen. Lee and Gen. Lee as well. Inside someone's house. Medical exhibits were fascinating--complete with a half-sawed femur bone! However, the "gift shop" was a den...More

The artifacts came to life for this Yankee with our tour guide describing many of the items and telling stories. Lots of guns, pictures of locals, books, etc. Who knew that the widowed women became very ill and sometimes died in the summer wearing their...More

Although the web confirmed the museum would be open this last Saturday, it was closed.A real pity considering the good reviews I read before. I was really excited to visit the museum.

This is a wonderful little museum, packed full of local history. Their collections of arms and photos is amazing. The gentlemen hosting were very knowledgeable and all sides of the conflict were represented. If you have a couple of hours to spare, this is a...More

We stopped by the Museum with some out-of-town friends and had the good fortune to get a tour from Coach Rossi. There's a wealth of artifacts, but it's the stories and primary source material that lights up the lives of people in that time, cuts...More

I came to Greenville with my family for the eclipse, but I would have made the trip just to see this fantastic museum. It's small, but jam-packed with Confederate memorabilia, exhibits and politically incorrect (i.e. truthful) literature and souvenirs. It is also free to see,...More

Though Southern-born and bred with a number of CSA vet ancestors I don't get weepy for the Lost Cause, but I could spend hours in this place. Don't expect flashy tech exhibits but rather a collection more reflecting what's important to Carolinians today, with heavy...More

Don't let the size of this museum fool you, it has a lot of history stored in this downtown Greenville house. I was especially surprised by the number of books in their library. If you'd like to do some research on the War Between the...More
