The liberty bridge offers great views of the Falls below. As a parent safety is pretty paramount for me whenever I am out with the kids, and this bridge feels pretty safe with thick wire rails all along the sides of the bridge. It does seem like the very bottom of the rail, a small child might be able to sneak a leg through, so just be mindful while walking the bridge to keep a close eye. There's public bathrooms and plenty of restaurants nearby, but definitely take a walk on the bridge to grab a few shots of the falls.

We were in Greenville, South Carolina for only a short time. Liberty Bridge and the Falls Park on the Reedy are must see attractions.
The Liberty Bridge is so cool. I was impressed how solid the bridge was and how much room it gave walkers. The bridge provides a wonderful view of the Falls Park on the Reedy as well as downtown Greenville.
Some interesting facts from the Greenville website:
"Chris Britton, structural division manager for Taylor and Murphy, describes the bridge as "an ultra lightweight bridge, which almost looks like it's floating on air."
At 345 feet long, 12 feet wide and 8 inches thick, the concrete reinforced deck is supported by a single suspension cable.
While bridges with similar structural concepts have been built in Europe, this bridge is unique in its geometry and there is nothing like it in the United States."
This downtown Greenville area has a lot of nice restaurants, landscaping and open area.
There is parking available if you can find the lot. You have to go online to pay (which I would rather not have to do). We paid for an hour, but you can easily spend more time here.
This is well worth the trip.

What a surprise to find a huge piece of nature in the middle of a bustling city. This bridge walkway, trails and park combine to make a peaceful safe beautiful visit in the heart of Greenville. Handicap Accessible, bikes must be walked, so no bikes racing past you, just a wonderful way to spend your day.

We visited the Liberty Bridge on the weekend of my birthday in November. This is a great place to visit with many points of interest including the bridge. There are places to eat as well as the park below the bridge. A beautiful place to take a strole or grab a bite to eat. Wonderful memories made.

My conference didn't start until 10 am so I made may way down the park and of course across this beautifully designed bridge. The falls make such a pleasant peaceful sound and you can almost forgot you are in the middle of downtown Greenville. I highly recommend crossing this bridge if you have the time.

Loved walking across this bridge and snapping a picture of the Falls. It was a sunny day so the picture was great. Walk all over this area as there are restaurants and places to sit and people watch or swing or even read a good book. Well worth the time spent.

The housing issue that went unresolved is rearing it's ugly head here as there are too many undesirables calling this bridge home

The design of this suspension bridge is very unusual and provides a spectacular view of the Reedy Falls and surrounding park. It's a must see for anyone visiting Greenville.

The bridge is an attraction in and of itself with a scenic view of the Falls. It will sway gently due to the design. Don't forget to read about the bridge and Falls history on the signs at the end of bridge.

The Liberty Bridge is a very special bridge over Falls River and Falls Park. It has been written up in lots of magazines and has won many awards for its structure. It's a great place to see the falls as well as the lovely park underneath. I always take my out of town guests to this famous bridge.

Where can I park that is near Liberty Bridge?
Written 29 October 2024
My husband and I usually can find street parking in the area. If not, there are surface lots with parking for either $5 or $10, depending on events taking place nearby. In addition there is a parking garage very close to the bridge.

I believe so. Dogs were on leashes but near the water several were let loose by their owners to enjoy the cool water. The owners were right there with their dogs close by, while they were in the water.
