We took some time out of our afternoon in Florence to drive through the Cemetery. So impressed with its solemn beauty. It's obvious the local community honors our military. It should be on everyone's list of things to do. It doesn't take long to stop & say thanks to all the men & women buried there!

Nothing quite compares to Arlington Cemetery, but this is a beautiful smaller national cemetery in central South Carolina. It doesn't take long to drive through it, but it is a beautiful resting place for the area veterans and their spouses. It is located in Florence and not too far from downtown.

Well worth a visit to the cemetery and the Civil War stockade. Very impressive and sad. It is hard to imagine the pain that all the Civil War soldiers endured.

I feel any national cemetery is worth visiting. The cemetery in Florence is unique among national cemeteries as it was begun to commemorate the POW union soldiers who died while interred at the Florence stockade. Most dying from disease and malnourishment. It also an overlooked fact that the first known female POW of the war was interred at the stockade... More

This s a beautiful cemetery which is well maintained. The individual sites can be easily with a directory. There is plenty of history to learn. it makes you respect the men and women who served our country even more- they deserve no less. My only concern is my father's headstone was cracked by a mower and has not been fixed/replaced... More

We drove through the Veterans cemetery. It is beautiful maintained and a reminder of how the men and women in the armed services have kept our nation free.

The National Cemetary is a must see in Florence. I found the history behind the mass graves of USA Civil War soldiers that were POWs heart wrenching. Stop hereon your trip...Learn the history. I treasure the USA that these soldiers died for.

It is a simple place to visit and not one that most people consider! But when you get there and take in the history of what is laying in front of you, its a moment that you will never forget!

I and my wife were so taken by our visit that we made our funeral home make the arrangement for our burial.
