"Impressionism from Monet to Matisse" is at the Columbia Museum of Art until April 21, 2013. And while, Columbia, SC, is probably off the beaten track except for business travelers, anyone visiting the city with a few free hours, could thoroughly and enjoyably immerse themselves...More

The museum is undergoing significant expansion/renovation through approximately August 2018, meaning that many of the permanent exhibits -- such as the classical European and Asian collections -- are nowhere to be seen until then. The museum does seem to be charging half-price admission as compensation....More

The museum is nice but much smaller than I expected. It has some awesome pieces of art just not enough of them. There are new/traveling exhibits now and then. It's worth a visit.

Appreciated the photography exhibition. The Museum is undergoing some construction so there was a significant discount. Sr discount for the in-laws. Student discount for the teenagers. Just the Mrs's and I at the construction discount.
