The permanent exhibits are closed until late-2018. Unless the special exhibit is particularly interesting to you, this museum is probably not worth the cost of admission until it fully reopens.

When I consulted the museum’s website, it seemed to suggest that at least part of the collection would be accessible. This is not the case. Only a temporary exhibition of Matisse lithographs was open. I felt cheated: Admission should have been free and not simply...More

My grand daughter came to Columbia with a friend and stayed with us over a few days. In that the city is not a tourist mecca, we thought that this would be a pleasant place to visit and were not disappointed. I was skeptical about...More

We visited the Columbia Museum of Art and I personally loved the exhibitions. That 70's Show showed cool art from the collection. I loved reading the posters for every single year from 1970-1979. I was walking down Memory Lane. I enjoyed the nostalgia viewing art,...More

The museum is undergoing significant expansion/renovation through approximately August 2018, meaning that many of the permanent exhibits -- such as the classical European and Asian collections -- are nowhere to be seen until then. The museum does seem to be charging half-price admission as compensation....More
