Interesting museum with a ton of relics. Always cool to review history from the opposite side. I was told it takes about 45 minutes to get through it. I stayed an hour and a half. Highly recommend it.

In what seems to be a volatile time in our country to walk through the relics of Civil War is a good reminder of the people that were involved, suffered, and persevered for the rights and freedoms of others. Remembering the pain and suffering and...More

Such amazing artifacts; especially the battle flags that have been through hell and back and now live on in a great museum for Civil War and American history buffs. See some great South Carolina military history for a small fee that is 100% worth it.

This museum is dedicated to South Carolina's contributions to our wars from the revolution to WW II. Small but it includes some rare gems of history. We discussed this museum with the curator who gave us additional insights. It was worth the additional time to...More

You won't regret spending a little time here in this museum. It isn't large and you can skirt through in 10 minutes, or easily spend an hour. Very high quality and you should not miss it if you enjoy military history.

What I liked most about this museum is that it knows who it is and what it wants to be. There isn't any flowery political correctness or greater good conversation, it is strictly "here are the historical events that SC was a part of and...More

It's small but mighty. The museum not only houses confederate relics but also contains exhibits covering South Carolina's involvement in many wars. You can tour this in an hour or so.

We stopped here mainly because my wife's g-g-g-grandfather was a general in the Confederate army and from South Carolina. Thought maybe we d'd see something about him but didn't. They had a Xanthus Smith exhibit with many of his works of art. Was interesting to...More

A little known fact, on many Fridays they have speakers come and talk about all sorts of things related to the history of South Carolina - battles and personalities in particular. There is no charge which is an added bonus. Half the museum doesn't change,...More
