When visiting the Clemson University campus do not miss the Hanover House which sits next to the gardens on the edge of campus. The home was built by Huguenots in 1716 and moved to Clemson and moved again to its current location. The architecture is fantastic. Open on the weekends, the guide was good and even if the home is small one gets a great view of how planters lived in colonial SC. The artifacts are great to see and efforts at the building's preservation are on-going. The colonial garden was neat to see. A great historic property to visit. Parking is good, restrooms present, and it is an hour well-spent.

If you are in the Botanical Gardens be sure and see the Hanover House. This house was built in Berkeley County in the 1700s and moved to Clemson when it's original site was flooded buy the construction of the Santee lakes. It was moved a second time to this spot from another place on Campus.

The house is only open for limited hours on Saturdays and Sundays. It's close to the visitor center of the Botanical Gardens. IF you cant get in, there's not much to see although you can read about the interesting history of the house.
