...a "must do" in Charleston: better if you go w/a friend so one can drive on the way over and the other on the return so you'll both have great views. (i.e. could be quite dangerous if you try to look AND drive!!!) On the other side is Mount Pleasant and Sullivan's Island - where you'll find quite a selection... More

One day I'm walking across this structure and enjoying it like it should be. I marvel at it every time I cross it at 40mph as a complete tourist.

There is a welcome center just off the bridge near Patriot's Point. Be sure to park there and visit the area. You'll get great views. There's a gift shop, bathrooms and a kids' play area. You can walk, run or bike across the bridge which provides great views to this beautiful city.

This is a nice bridge to drive over. But whats even more fun is the 10k bridge run help annually. Must do!

We love driving up to and over it. However, last Fall, we took the courage and decided to walk across it and it was beautiful, just before sunset as we walked one way and then viewed the spectacular sunset on the way back! Definitely, would not recommend walking when its too hot. There is also parking at the shell station... More

Take a walk when the weather is warm but not too hot. It's a beautiful drive across the bridge at night and during the day.

We made a special trip to go over this bridge.seeing it from the side (by the Charleston harbor near the aquarium) doesn't do it justice. Drive over it! Amazing engineering! Glad we did.

I am not one for bridges, we had some time, to see where the bridge would take us. We were able to see the sunset. Very lovely bridge, some people were walking across it,that is not for me

OMG! I was driving when we approached the bridge and nearly had a nervous breakdown. The bridge is beautiful but it is the longest bridge I have ever driven across. We went across it again with my husband driving and I loved it. It is definitely a site to see.
