We attended the April 26, 2017, performance. We purchased our tickets the day before the concert at the Visitors Center. Bill Schlitt is an entertaining host. Our favorite performer of the evening was Ann Caldwell. She has an excellent singing voice as well as storytelling....More

Thanks for your very positive review of The Sound of Charleston. The St. Cecelia Society (classical music) section of the show is designed to last about 18 minutes out of the 75 minute total. That's pretty close to what Jessica's pieces lasted.

This concert was an optional activity on my tour group's itinerary when we were in town in late March, and those of us who decided to attend agreed that it was one of the highlights of our three days in Charleston. I loved the intimate...More

From classical to civil war tunes to Jazz. Excitement and energy of this concert raised the roof of the old Congregational church. A must see event for any music lover.

We attended the April 8 show - and it was just wonderful. All of the musicians seemed to be truly having fun and had a deep love for the music and the history. The highlight was the Gershwin for 4 hands - the standing ovation...More

I saw the sign outside the church and thought we should give it a try since I wanted to experience as much of Charleston as we could. We loved it! From the vibrant narrator to the end where we all sang Amazing Grace... This is...More

Our brother-in-law took us out for a night on the town to the Sounds of Charleston last night, March 22nd, 2017. What an outstanding performance by a group of talented musicians and singers. This is live music at its best. Beautiful Venue at the Circular...More

...that's what I experienced with the amazing gospel singers; voices that filled the round church venue. The standing ovation for all the performers was well deserved. A wonderful experience of talented musicians and rich history.

Thanks for your positive review. I am wondering, however, why you gave us only one star out of five. Perhaps you reversed the rating scale?

This show takes on the significant challenge of presenting the long music history of Charleston. The very enthusiastic and talented narration and quality of music presented make for a very enjoyable evening. An excellent variety of music is presented. First time visitors and long time...More

This event was presented as if it would offer all sorts of variety of music, including Gullah. We had two Gospel songs and a wonderful dual piano version of Gershwin's tune from Porgy and Bess. The rest was 2 men (as pictured) singing some local...More

Thanks for your feedback. I am sorry you were disappointed with the performance. You obviously were then not part of the two standing ovations and cheering crowd at the end of the show. I must, however, correct several inaccuracies in your review. We do promise...More

We like the Mills house . It may be a bit pricey, but the atmosphere is nice and we usually get a salad and burger. Check out Gaulart &Maliclet a little french place a few blocks. There are so many restaurants you can't go... More

Hi, Bill! I've been trying to contact you re our group reservation for October 7th via the "email" on your website -- but obviously it isn't working. Didn't know if you were aware of the problem with the "contact us" messaging. And it must have not been working when I first contacted about our situation a couple months ago, since I've not received an answer. (Don't want to go into the situation on this site.) I will give you a call at a reasonable time tomorrow (it's nearly 11:30 pm right now!)
