Definitely worth the visit. The crews of the Hunley, the Confederate submarine, are buried there in a really impressive Confederate area. The Cemetary is well maintained and goes back well into the 1700s.

Walking through a cemetery is not always the most comfortable place. It was as if we could feel the souls buried there, reading the tombstones we felt we knew them when we walked out.

This is an interesting place to visit. Included here are graves of the crew of the Hunley, past state governors, and many interesting statues and monuments. Give yourself at least an hour or more to really enjoy your tour.

The transit (CARTA) runs from the city to Cunnington Street but there are no tour buses allow in Magnolia Cemetery. You would have to inquire with the shuttle service as to what they offer.
