Our guide gave us the history of The Citadel and it was interesting that most of the buildings are all white on the main campus.

Even though this is not the original campus (that is downtown at Marion Square) this one dates back to the 20' and is most impressive. If you can, try to go on a Friday afternoon during the school year when they are having one of...More

We wanted to see the campus of The Citadel, and with WAZE on my iPhone we didn't have any problem finding it. It's on the northern side of the city. We weren't sure if it would be open, but we were able to drive right...More

Have always heard of The Citadel but never visited. Drove around the campus and wife visited the chapel. This is a very impressive campus and probably one of the nicest I've every seen. Everything was so clean and well taken care of.

We were on vacation in Charleston, & passed the exit for The Citadel, so the last day we went over there. Parking doesn't seem to be a problem usually, but most of the visitor parking spots that I looked up on the campus map were...More

We drove by the Citadel, and the campus was open. Nice way to spend 30 minutes. Beautiful grounds, with all white painted buildings, and idled armed forces equipment. Then drive over (or walk) to Hampton Park. Restful, beautiful grounds with giant trees.

Rivaling VMI and West Point, the Citadel has an impressive but not oppressive campus. The library is beautiful with many murals. Don't miss the chapel.

The Citadel grounds were meticulously maintained. Our tour guide and bus driver knew a lot about the Citadel and we learned a lot.

This is such a huge compound, and it is beautiful. They have a really nice church there, and the compounds have really nice reddish and white patterns on them. Really cool place to go :)

Yes, you can walk around and walk into some of the buildings. There are no reservations required. The parades are only on Fridays during the school year and are typically at 3:30pm.
