Truly authentic example of historic mansion. Wonderfully lead tour and beautiful grounds. You get a real feel for how they lived when it was built.

Beautiful grounds and interesting tours. The talk given on the plantation history regarding slave life and the family were very informative.

The tour guide was excellent... informative, knowledgable and interesting. The setting was beautiful and the house itself, fascinating. Plan about 3 hours to drive to, park, and tour.

Most plantations are restored, but this one is preserved and there are plenty of facts they are still finding out about the time and this-place. If you are interested in documenting your tour, there are moldings, stairwells, the basement were the cooking and servants worked...More

Drayton Hall is preserved, not restored. The tour guide was patient and knowledgeable. We did learn a lot. The grounds are pretty. The cemetery was interesting. The architecture was neat, but be forewarned: the house is empty of all furniture and decor. Thought it was...More

This is not a "working" plantation and the home is empty but very beautiful with great tour guides that have a lot of historical facts about the home, its owners/family. Enjoyed walking the property.

I think the tour of Drayton Hall is worth visiting, but it is important to keep in mind that it isn't restored, just maintained. The home is empty. There isn't much left besides the home and the privy.

This is an un-restored plantation house form the 18th century. It was very interesting to visit after having been to Monticello in Va recently. It is also Palladian in architectural style. Again, the importance of slavery was highlighted.

Hi, is there concierge service at the hotel that can help make arrangements for day trip to elephant sanctuary, Ubud area, monkey forest etc.. Is the beach swimmable and is there snorkeling? We are divers and would need recommendations for local dive operations and diving locations. Thanks! Sandy
