This is a beautiful church that is leaning to one side after an earthquake dropped one side of it almost 8 inches many years ago. Church is still functional so no worries! I believe that George Washington and Prince Charles have visited this church. Small but definitely a look see!!

We just happened upon a free tour guided by a parish member. We were invited to join and learned the long and wonderful history of this gem in downtown Charleston. It has survived wars, hurricanes, and more. It holds 3 Tiffany windows. George Washington worshiped there. The church and cemetery are well worth the visit.

St. Michael's has gorgeous woodwork and stained glass. You can stroll through the cemetery to see the old gravestones of the early parishioners, many of whom were prominent Charleston citizens.

Christian worship has been offered according to the book of Common Prayer since 1680. The organ is beautiful along with artistic design in the wood. It was very interesting to stroll through the cemetery.

Enjoyed browsing thru this lovely old church, with the beautiful stained glass windows and the sweet little graveyard, with old, old graves. Perfect place to feel the history that surrounded it!!

This is a special church in many ways. The grounds are nice, church beautiful, people friendly. More important, it shares the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Interesting history, beautiful stained glass, springtime blossoms, and an amazing little graveyard all in one stop. We almost didn't take the time to explore this church, but I am so glad that we did. It is simply a beautiful landmark in the heart of Charleston. The steeple of this church can be seen from many locations throughout the city. The... More

I'm told it is not as ornate as the Cathedral, but it was impressive to tourists and to out of town Catholics.
