Seen my share of Forts, but this is a must have for history buffs. It's where the civil war began and the history is amazing as it also touched on Revolutionary war, slavery (they were hired out by their owners to lay bricks), lots of...More

Since it's always hot and humid in charleston the ferry ride is a welcome respite over to a remarkable place. The tour is well organized and informative. They educate you on the way over and upon arriving they performed a gun exhibition. Quite interesting and...More

This was a return trip after 30+ years. Smaller than I remember and some damage from years of age but worth the trip to understand the significance. Also to get a perspective on the battle.

The whole visit was neat. We took the first ferry ride over so we were able to participate in the raising of the flag. The monument itself was interesting to see. I would recommend this to any history buffs.

I hadn't been there in years, but I really enjoyed renewing old memories. The tour of the harbor was informative and refreshed my Southern history.

This was definitely something my husband wanted to see and the ferry ride over was very nice with an informative host. Very historical, and an interesting museum.

Good American history about the beginning of Civil War. Boat ride out to fort was enjoyable. Fire arm demonstration was very educational. Recommend visiting.

The narration on the way to/from the fort was very interesting. The guides and the signage at the fort were excellent in conveying its history.

We took this thru Gray Line from the Visitor Center. The 30 minute boat ride to the fort is a pleasure in itself. Our seasick prone friend had no issues. Fort Sumter is a national treasure.

Yes, they have an elevator to take you to the different levels of the fort.
How long is the boat ride from the mainland to Ft. Sumter? I hate boats but want to see the fort!

It's about a 20 minute ride, but it a big ferry, go inside and you'll never see the water.
