We recently had a chance to visit. What a peaceful walk. It was approaching sunset so we did not go more than a mile in but I will definitely go back maybe to cool of on a hot day. A true hidden gem in Bluffton. Very well marked and maintained. I was impressed.

This is a basic, no-frills nature preserve with a wide, somewhat maintained main circle trail, and a much longer perimeter trail with cutovers here and there that is a footpath with no maintenance. There was a lot of windstorm damage during our visit with lots of downed trees, which made navigation difficult. We had to sidestep the downed trees by going off the trails which meant we picked up dozens of ticks which as you know aren't easy to get rid of. We didn't see many birds, but the walk was nice nonetheless overall. There is a nice big parking lot right off the road with an info kiosk. The main trail is marked OK, but the side and long perimeter trail are not, so it would be a good idea to take an image of the map so you can view it along the way. There are no maps to take. The main trail is wide and clear enough to likely avoid getting ticks and maintained well enough to make it good for taking a spin on a bike. However, if you're planning to hike all the trails, the longest of which must be a couple of mile long, I wouldn't ride unless you're hard core and I would definitely bring a lot of DEET. The ticks and chiggers really went to work on us.

This could be a nice place to visit, but too many hunters around to enjoy the visit. We went into the preserve to see nature,but did not get too far as signs told us there would be hunters in the Preserve area.

There was a nice parking lot at the Victoria Bluff Heritage Preserve but one you get past that it's just a walk in the woods to nowhere. Good place to get some exercise but otherwise it doesn't strike me as a tourist attraction at all.

This is a great place to visit once and we had a nice long walk but there is no variety in terrain or vegetation so we felt uninspired to return.
