A very beautiful and historic church, which is now an Anglican church (previously, and Episcopal church). The services are traditional to the Church of England, whose Arch-Bishop of Canterbury is the head. St.Helena's joined the many state and country- wide former Episcopal churches, now in...More

The church is open for visitors, and during our visit, a docent was available to tell the church's story. The graveyard is large and dated back to the late 1770s. Don't just walk by, go in! (This is on the walking self-tour.)

Visiting St Helena was definitely one of the highlights of my trip which included Savannah, Beaufort, Hilton Head and Charleston! There are pamphlets available in the church, which is probably enough for a self-guided tour but we very pleased to enjoy our visit with Carlo,...More

Even if you can't get inside the church it is worth it to stroll around the grounds of the graveyard and learn about some of the notable people who have been buried here over the centuries.

Founded in about 1711. Well kept and in great condition. Interesting grave yard they even buried some British Officers and the graves are marked with British Flags. Docents are there for tours most of the time.

Very old church with friendly people. I was baptized at this church 20 years ago. The services are nice and there is a gorgeous organ inside. The upstairs used to be where slaves sat, but is now open for anyone to sit! What a neat...More
