A super tour of the Historic district of Beaufort. Our guide, Jacob, was well informed, entertaining and a fantastic source of anecdotes. And even gave us the occasional song. Beaufort itself is the real star. With so many houses dating back to the period before the civil war (and others built in the Victorian and even more recent periods sticking... More

One of the best tours ever. 3 hours with Jan went by quick. She sang some spiritual songs and one in Gullah. Went to a praise which was very moving. Went to the penn center. Wish we had more time to look around. Saw were MLK stayed. Went to a plantation house. Wrap it up getting chocolate at the chocolate... More

Jacob was an articulate tour guide who gave us a very knowledgeable and entertaining history of Beaufort. He was very adaptable to going as fast or as slow as we wanted for our walking pace. I would recommend Jacob and the Spirit of Old Beaufort for anyone visiting there.

Needless to say, Jan was a GREAT tour guide! She was very knowledgeable and passionate about these homes and the people who lived there. We were whisked back in time! We were the only two on the bus so she stopped at the chocolate factory for us! I agree it went too quick! THANK YOU!

We were greeted by Evangeline and serenaded prior to joining our tour guide on the bus. There was so much to see and hear about not only in the antebellum homes but before and after the "war of northern aggression" Wonderful tour. Highly recommended.

The chilly, overcast and drizzly day was certainly brightened up by this tour of Beaufort's historic district. You have a sense of the history as you walk the streets by yourself, but our tour guide Jacob brought that history to life. He had interesting stories about the history of the town, the families that lived there over the last 300... More

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our van tour of Beaufort (first visit) with Evalene. She is articulate, energetic, super-knowledgeable of the town's history, and has a fun-filled sense of humor. She also has a very nice singing voice. Well worth the price and it made us want to return so we could take the Gullah tour.
