Fun dolphin tour----and we DID see several dolphins feeding in the bay. Learned a lot about the ecology of the bay/river. Some history also. This is a really good way to spend a couple of hours on a sunny day. Well worth the money.

Pontoon boat ride up the river. The crew was looking real hard for dolphins, unfortunately we did not see any. Good summary of the history of the town and some of the river front home. Got some great pictures of Ospreys sitting on a pole.

We have been on a fishing trip with Capt. Tim before! We always have a great time!! Tim makes sure we are at the best fishing spots and if there is nothing biting, we move on to the next spot! He took his time to help teach our daughter how cast a line on the boat and gave us pointers... More

I'm afraid the reviewer of Nov 21 has me confused with my friend Capt. Tim Deckard of Cast Away Charters (beaufortcastawaycharter.com); we don't fish from the Prince of Tides, but offer both public and private tours of the Beaufort River. More

If you fell in love with Pat Conroy's vivid descriptions of the low-country, then you'll love Captain Dick's cruise on The Prince of Tides. Cap'n Dick was very informative on the history of the area as well as the wildlife. The highlight of the trip was getting close up and personal with a pod of bottle nose dolphins chasing their... The adventure lasted 2 hours at $220 per hour, but it was truly worth it! Seeing the pods of dolphins swimming around the boat over and over was phenomenal. My granddaughter absolsutely loved it. To be honest, I loved it. The dolphins were so close to us that we could see them swimming close to the top of the water.... More

We took the river tour in the hopes of seeing dolphins and learning more about the Beaufort area. It did not disappoint. We saw dolphins and many were up close, Our captain made sure that when a dolphin was spotted in the distance he took us close to it and we stayed out longer than the tour was advertised to... More

We were on a sold out trip and we were comfortably seated. Captain Dick had a very informative running commentary on the history of Beaufort, the historic homes, the marsh & waterways, the Hollywood movie tie-ins, the sea life including the delightful Dolphins. Ask him about his buddy whose shrimp boat was used in the movie "Forest Gump". Very enjoyable... More

I called at 10 am and reserved the tour for 2. Went there at 1:30 to buy tickets. He canceled the boat tour. Reason- storm coming tomorrow. He didn't know that at 10 am?? Very RUDE when I mentioned the storm was forecasted for tomorrow Then tried to sell me a van tour. I wouldn't spend one dime for the... More

Other reviews say low pressure.....ya....boring. Boat and captain adequate. First of all, we got stuck on a boat with people who thought the boat was reserved for them. Maybe they did reserve it, I don't know. 15 Fighter pilot wives....and they didn't share any of their trays of food or spirits. Once the boat started up.....is was just loud talking... More

I booked this trip based solely on the reviews from Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. Capt. Dick was informative, nice, and a great captain. He was so good, both our youngest kids, 2 years and 4 months, went right to sleep. Seeing dolphins right near the boat was amazing. Our 9 year olds were in awe, as were we!! Definitely... More
