I went there today on Easter Sunday. It's the kind of thing I prefer to do on Easter. It is a wonderful old cemetery. Dedicated by Abe Lincoln. Many old tombstones without more than a name which is typical of many years ago. It is set out like Arlington and although smaller (although it is pretty big) and is quite... More

I am not an expert on cemeteries but this was a meaningful experience. Dedicated to the men and women who served our nation. From the Civil War to present. Very solemn and tastefully preserved. Makes you appreciate the sacrifices by the hundreds buried here.

We visited the cemetery during the holidays and it was quite beautiful with all the graves tastefully decorated with wreaths and ribbons! You can drive right in and find graves from many eras. Col. Shaw and the men of 54th Massachusetts killed at Fort Wagner are buried in unmarked graves (The movie "Glory" told their story). Colonel Donald "The Great... More

If you take The Spirit of Old Beaufort tour, you'll go through this lovely cemetery. The guide will point out various types of headstones and markers. It will make you proud of how the government has honored those who served our country and the way the city of Beaufort maintains this beauty for all to see.

This well kept national cemetery contains the remains of those who fought to maintain the freedom we all enjoy. Our visit served to remind us that freedom comes at a cost.

It will send goose bumps down your arms to walk through this beautiful cemetery dedicated to all those who served our country. Including the unnamed who are remembered with numbered markers. A must see when in Beaufort.

Regular visitor, this is one of the best cemeteries and well-kept at all times. The design is amazing and benches throughout to sit and reflect. Great place to walk and embrace the history of women and men who protected our country. There are hotels, gas stations, grocery stores and much more within close vicinity. Great restaurants like Dockside, Lady's Island... More

Quiet, organized, neat. Like you'd expect of the military. I honor our veterans by saying this, they would appreciate the manner in which they are remembered.

I have driven by the National Cemetery many times before I decided to stop and explore. I was surprised to see how big the cemetery is. Walking around in the peace and quiet, while reading the stones, reminded me of the enormous sacrifice these soldiers made for us for a better life. I look forward to visiting again.
