This place is simply wonderful. $5 a person to enter and worth much more. The forest looks like something out of Jurassic Park and the beach is stunning.

This is a State Park. It was ferociously lambasted by Mathew, and has not fully recovered, but very good work has been done to open up roads, detours, etc. It has always been my place to enjoy the ocean to it's fullest. Beaufort has no...More

Very wide beaches with soft and hard sand. Easy walking. Very beautiful greenery on the drive in. We had a free pass from our Inn but even if you pay, it's worth the trip.

There are not many stretches of undeveloped beach left in the lowcountry, but this one is a treasure. Long views of white sand, uncrowded by hotels, parking lots, or man made structures. During the pre-noon hours I had that beach nearly yo myself. Eager to...More

This is an undeveloped island-no boardwalk. no concession stands. no life guards. Just water. sand, and Mother Nature. And Port-o-potties. Spend some time here letting the ocean entertain you.Camping site reservations go fast so plan ahead. Way ahead.

We used a yearly pass to go into the park. I think there is a fee to enter for all cars but once in there are several areas to park with designated handicapped spots.
