About
Grey Sail Brewing is Rhode Island’s southernmost brewery, located in the beautiful seaside town of Westerly. In 2011, founders Jennifer and Alan Brinton converted the 1920’s era Westerly Macaroni Factory into a brewhouse and taproom. The historical seaside inspired their nautical-themed Double IPA “Captain’s Daughter” and line up of over a dozen other craft beers. Customers can enjoy beer-to-go or at their taproom/beer garden. In addition, Grey Sail’s beer is distributed throughout Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey.

This is a nice brewery in Westerly that is kid and dog friendly! They have their popular featured beers like Captain’s Daughter and would love to see more variety or newer ones more often. I did get to try one of their sours that I did enjoy! I do love their location and they do offer two parking lots. Their brewery is in a typical home so the rooms are all pretty nice how it’s laid out and homey. They have games, a dart board, corn hole, and also offer Vetrano’s pizza! Their outdoor area is also very nice and is fenced in and large. Plenty of areas to sit and they also have a lot of shaded areas. There is plenty of room for the kids to play too!

Classic Southern New England seaside town/mini city. Nice vibe with plenty of food and beverage styles and options. Charming area you can think of as a Cape Cod with a longer milder season.

The building is tastefully furnished and clean. The beers are better than the average craft brewery in the area. They serve a red and a white wine from a local winery. It is handicap accessible. It sounds wonderful and usually is. Grey Sail now has a distillery, but no drinks were offered when we recently visited. I was hoping to sample a few, but all I could do was buy a shot, and it was discouraged. A Negroni was listed on the tasting menu, though I was told it was unavailable and they hadn't gotten around to crossing it off the menu. I opted for a white wine and my husband sampled a stout. We did enjoy ourselves though wish the spirits were available.

One of our favorite breweries. Delicious variety of brews. Outside seating is very nice and safe. Also have igloos in the colder months. Fire brick oven pizza available most of the time. Have never sat inside.

This is a great brewery. Wonderful outdoor beer garden with super IPA Captains Daughter really hits the spot. Wood fired pizza delicious pairing with the tasty beer. The main house is a historic beauty and although we were there in warm weather I cannot wait to return to have a pint by the fire.

They have a variety of beer but also have wine for people who aren't crazy about beer. The pizza truck serves great pizza to go with your beer. We went in late November so we couldn't play games outside but there is a dart board that was great fun. Highly recommend.

Old house that has been renovated to a tasting room for the brewery. The tap is in one room and the rest have various seating arrangements. Its a very unique space worth a visit. Prices are all reasonable. They have an space around the corner for merchandise and to go cans and fills.

Fun local brewery in Westerly’s North End neighborhood with plenty of local beer on tap as well as an on-site brick oven pizza. Parking can sometimes get a little tight, but the setting is beautiful: the brewery itself is in a historic macaroni factory building, and the taproom in a beautifully-renovated yellow house next door. Board games and lawn games are available for patrons to enjoy. Solid choice for a happy hour outing with coworkers!
