great for a walk

took me over an hour to make it all the way out and back on a mostly warm day... the entire time I saw not another person. Very peaceful.

This beach is good for a nice long walk. It is good on one side only. Not as clean as some of the other RI beaches but definitely something different. Also, the chance that you may run into an A-list celebrity makes this a good place to visit in summer. Parking is a hassle around the beach on weekends.

This was my favorite beach in Westerly. Not as crowded as others (because parking is impossible and far from the beach). Shorebirds and dunes and just lovely, especially around sunset when there are fewer people and the sky colors up.

This is easily one of the most beautiful beaches in New England. Wonderful views of Watch Hill and Fishers Island sound. Parking may be at a premium so get there early.

By late August, the crowds are small enough that there is plenty of room for you to stake out a spot on the beach (which is on the ocean side of the Point, with views that can't be beat). On the cove side, there is solitude, a different but equally great view, and a lively aquatic ecosystem including hermit crabs... More

This is a very nice sandy beach - and for a weekday mid August - which is not crowded at all. Plenty of space to find a nice spot not too far from the waterline. Pretty view across the water to the lighthouse and some nice houses. Plenty of kids in the water having fun. Water was warm and was... More

Wonder to step back in time! The town of Watch Hill is very nice. There are nice shops...don't miss the gellato in the shops!

This place is the best kept secret! The beaches are beautiful and the sunsets are even better. A must see if you are in the area, parking can be a of a problem in season, but hang with it some place to park always opens up.

I live about 20 min north of Providence and my family and I are always looking for different things to do. After getting home from work on Friday night we decided to take a drive to Watch Hill and hang there for the evening as we'd never been, and after I read that it is voted one of the best... More
