I believe this park was built on an old airstrip. It offers a few different acticities. There is a freshwater swimming area, tennis courts, a paved track for biking or roller blades (great for kids!), buying around the old airfield pavement, hiking to a salt pond and different activities through out the year such as a seafood festival, music festivals,... I believe that three of these reviews refer to Ninigret Park in Charlestown, RI and the other three refer to East Beach in Westerly. I suspect the confusion is in that there is also an East Beach in the Ninigret Conservation Area of Charlestown, RI. East Beach in Charlestown is a Rhode Island State Beach. Ninigret Park is a town... More

Several incredible musicians (Masters of the Fiddle; Ten Strings and a Goatskin). Some average roots bands. Some not so good. Since music is a personal style thing, you would expect as much from any big festival. The festival was well coordinated (didn't notice any real logistic issues). Definitely worth the trip if you like roots music.

I really enjoy the ride to Ninigret, usually around the time of the Seafood Festival. Great food, the fireworks display was fantastic when we went even though it was starting to mist, the rain held off.

We have been coming to Watch Hill for over twenty years. East Beach is without question the most lovely beach in New England. You approach from a number of almost hidden pathways that wend through tall hedges, grasses, and beach plum bushes. The beach appears at the end of the path: broad, clean, light tan sand leading down to a... More

This summer beach town on the far western tip of RI is a very high end community with nice Ocean beaches and a quaint very walkable town. It is a popular boating destination because it has a large protected anchorage in Little Narragansett Bay. First, getting in to the harbor is easier than it looks. If you dutifully follow the...
