Slater Mill Museum is a gem: it does history in the most interesting ways. The tour is tremendously informative without being boring or stuffy. Most important, you will learn more than you could imagine about the central role Southern slavery and cotton played in the...More

My husband and I often ride our bikes to Slater Mill. While this is a small place, it's pretty fascinating to see how the industrial age got started in America. Makes you realize how far we've come with worker safety and mechanization. This is a...More

Slater Mill gives you a tour through America on the edge of the Industrial Revolution. With technology from Great Britain, Samuel Slater brought manufacturing to the US. Before long, Pawtucket and Central Falls would be the center of innovation. The museum shows the tools that...More

Cool place to go to see how old Pawtucket used to operate. Interesting place to take the family, especially some younger/preteen kids, to show them how things used to get done.

Pawtucket is loaded with old mills. It's nice to see this one restored and keeping the history of the area. You can see how the water was used in the mills for power. Interesting and quaint place by the river.

Our guide was very informative. I didn't realize there were 3 buildings on the site. Lots of history in such a compact place. The setting is quaint and actually peaceful, in the garden and alongside the river waterfall.
