I decided to take my Springer Spaniel, Rigsby, to the beach for an afternoon. I didn't want to drive any major highways so chose to find a dog friendly beach in RI. Sachuest Beach (Second Beach) came up in google. It is a beautiful beach,...More

Nice beach for walking or kite flying in April when we were there, and the nearby nature reserve had nice flat walking loop with Ocean and Bay views and birds. Some people were fishing.

Drive past first beach without a care in the world and head over to 2nd beach. It's a beautiful beach. Found it while attending Salve and it was a regular hot spot for all of us in the late summer, early Spring. Never was overcrowded...More

Arrive early, bring cash for a Del's Lemonade! Surfer's end is our favorite area to watch the kids, adults and surfing classes.

Way too many people for me. Everyone is on top of each other. There's also red tide. It's worse than seaweed, because it can get stuck in your hair for days (and that's with showering.)And it smells bad.Be prepared to pay for parking up until 4:00...More

Second (Sachuest) Beach is my go to beach! For the New England coast, the waves can be phenomenal and a slow approach into the water can be tricky! I love to "catch the perfect wave" and body surf into shore! Especially on weekends, get there...More

Go solo or with a friend- get those hiking boots on and get some exercise while enjoying the sea air and the view. You might even see a deer like I did on Sunday. The ocean loop is 1.5 miles! Family friendly. But, no pets...More

Much nicer than Easton's Beach and with Purgatory chasm at one end. Porta-loos available. Add a walk down around the bird sanctuary. The beach is about 2km (1.2 miles) long .

Yes! That's the best time of day after most people leave. It's very peaceful, but swim at your own risk.
