This is a neat trail to walk or bike. We chose to bike this section. It is nice and rolling...winding its way along the water. We saw geese, deer and a bald eagle along the way! Perfect for all ages.

I used this portion of the York Heritage Rail Trail several times over the summer and during the fall for my half marathon training. I started at the Route 30 parking lot and ran to John Rudy, sometimes running through the park to add on extra miles, and back. This part has more inclines (though nothing outrageous) than the southern portion which made the long runs more interesting. I enjoy the portion that runs by the creek. The trail is very well kept, scenic and offers a great place for runners, walkers and bikers alike to enjoy.

This has some of the best kept paths of the enitre trail. There are a few hills but none are too steep. Vists are great. I can't wait to go back. it is great to get in shape for the biking season.

This extension of the rail trail is well built and maintained, scenic, enough low hills to keep it interesting and ends in a park woth opportunities to mingle with the community.

Extremely scenic rail trail in a pastoral setting. Excellent for bicycling. Trail is quite level, wide and well-maintained.

Since it's opening in April, 2015, this roughly 4.5 mile stretch of the Rail Trail running from Route 30 to Rudy Park is a fantastic place to run. Much more hilly than the south of York Rail Trail, this trail offers incredibly scenic views through woods as well as an open trail overlooking a creek for roughly a mile north from route 30. An added bonus is the occasional Eagle sighting.

My husband, two young children, and I love to take runs on the new part of the rail trail. It begins at John Rudy Park, which is the perfect place to get a hill workout and let the kids play, and it ends at Rt. 30. The run is scenic and mostly flat (except for the hill at John Rudy and a few small, gentle hills along the trail). Part of the trail is paved and the rest is gravel. The only down side of the run, for me, is the section near Rt. 30. That tends to be smelly because of all of the traffic on Rt. 30 and the big recycling plant by the creek. Overall, it's a nice, scenic run or easy bike ride. Hopefully, this new part of the trail will soon be connected to the rest of the rail trail that runs through the southern part of the county!
