Went camping at Frances Slocum for the first time and had a great time. We went in the rustic area which you need to walk to from a parking lot. Lots of tree cover and sites not on top of each other. Plenty of places to walk and explore. Close proximity to Wilkes-Barre. All around great time.

We camped at Frances Slocum this past Independence Day weekend in our pop-up camper. We decided to camp only a few weeks before the holiday, so this was the only state campground with spots left and there were only two remaining. I was concerned they would be lousy spots but, as it turned out, they were quite nice. Pros: -Despite... More

Watch you kids when they're swimming....Wednesday afternoon, 7-13-16 I watched a guy pull a young girl from out of the Frances Slocum pool and he resuscitated her. Pay very close attention to your kids, it is a big pool.

I love going here in the Fall for photoshoots! My son also has t-ball practice here at the park. There is a nice playground and pool. The pool is $5/pp. The views are gorgeous as the mountains surround it. Lots of wildlife. We have come across lots of bunnies and deer.

We love this state park. It is one of the cleanest state parks I have been at.Camping is a favorite past time. Walk the trails, camp, enjoy a picnic, watch the kids play at the playground, take out the paddle boats, fish, swim at the pool for a small fee. All things we love to do here. We even have... More

Frances Slocum State Park has something for everyone. Boating, private boat launch and rentals available. Acres and acres of hiking, picnicking, fishing, camping, small playground and a swimming pool (extra fee.) If you love being outdoors and seeing local nature in the wild this is the place to visit.
