Went on one of their early Saturday morning openings. It was a slice of heaven. Everywhere you look there is something beautiful. Accommodating staff, signs were clear where to walk. Places to sit and take in the beauty.

I visit these gardens throughout the year, and am always amazed at the beauty. It is a small property and can be viewed in 1 1/2 hrs. or 3 hrs if you take a lunch and sit on their chairs or tables placed throughout the property. The grounds are easy to walk, with paths throughout. Lovely in Spring, Summer, and... More

If you visit this place very season (they are closed mid'fall to spring, though), you will appreciate that the gardens change continuously, with new varieties of plants and flowers being rotated over time. The landscaping and garden design are breathtaking and the staff will answer any question you may have on the flora. Not to be missed if you are... More

This place is nothing short of amazing!! At every turn there is something spectacular to see! Beautiful pasthways, vibrant colored flowers. So much to see, make sure you allow 2-3 hours to really see it all.

Beautiful inspiring plantings. I came away with several of their plant lists/planting schemes to copy in my own garden. Also, many many unique touches, such as hand forged hand rails, and small stone trough overflowing with unusual and interesting plantings. The tea cup garden at the start is a real Kodak moment, high maintenance but stunning. I loved some of... More

I just had the pleasure of visiting Chanticleer for the third time. This visit involved a Master Class in Garden Design. I can't imagine a better place to learn about garden design. The various gardens are so beautifully done in a loose, carefree way that it's impossible not to relax and feel inspired. Our class met all of the individual... More

Encouraged by a write-up in our local newspaper, my husband and I recently visited Chanticleer Gardens. Located a little west of Philadelphia in the town of Wayne, PA, the beautiful garden was well worth the trip. The flowers, the vegetable gardens, and the water gardens were lovely—even on a wet, rainy October morning. The entrance fee is $10, and the... More

What's not to like? If you love (or even like) gardens, you'll love/like this place. I'm not a gardener myself, so I can't comment knowledgeably on all the cutting-edge experimental work they're doing. I just love the beauty of the gardens and the unique spaces they've created -- a woodsy walk by a stream, a lotus pond, a densely-planted manor-house... More
