Beatiful, with named plants and pleasant walkign area

A nice place to take a quiet walk - near the stadium and law building. For freshman parents, it's near East Halls

The arboretum is always evolving with new areas being added. It is quiet and beautiful. I enjoy seeing what has been added to the shrubbery beds, the children's garden is really cute, and the flower bed displays are ever changing throughout the seasons.

One of the best places in town for a quite walk or to commune with the nature 😀 My personal favorite is the Lilly pond. Usually something in bloom once the temperature rises. Also the tulips in the spring are gorgeous.

If your ever in Happy Valley and would like to see an amazing place dedicated to landscaping and serenity, then you must visit the Arboretum. The locals use it as a photo opportunity for pictures but also a place to escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. Beautiful water fountains, a little cave and signage for all the plants and... They have a great kids area and plenty of area for them to run around. Adults can enjoy the other areas. There are nice paths in the woods behind the groomed area.

These gardens are beautiful in many seasons. A good place for a peaceful walk or to practice photography on the many plants and flowers.

Was very nice to walk around, I can see that in the spring it will be beautiful. If you have children, it is a wonderful place to take them, they have an area just for them

The gardens are beautiful at every season. The Children's garden is interactive and magical! Be sure to look for special event like Music in the Gardens in early June with professional musicians in each garden room.

My husband and I like to walk there, and our grandchildren love to go there when they visit us. It's educational and fun.

I have three young boys and we love going to the Arboretum. We can spend about two hours there before they start getting bored, but two hours of entertainment for free is worth 5 starts in my book!! Plus they have really nice bathrooms!! PROS: it's beautiful, it's free, it's educational, it's a short walk from the Penn State Creamery,... More
