Nice place for families to visit after shopping at State College. It's educational with botanical garden . We enjoy the lily pond and fountain. As State College had become more developed with buildings. It's a gem and relaxinG place to take a break.

The Arboretum at Penn State University is beautiful year round. But if you'd like a real 'treat" for Halloween, please come see the carved pumpkin contest! It is an awesome night of beauty and just creepy enough to please everyone. Don't doubt me. Make the journey.

Their Children's Garden is fantastic. Offers a welcoming and safe atmosphere for kids to run around, burn off some energy and explore! They also have really fun season activities for the community like pumpkin carving in the fall

We live near the arboretum so we visit fairly often. The children's garden there is awesome! Our girls, 2 & 5, love wading in the water attraction, playing on the giant caterpillar statue, and watering the plants (there's a hand pump and watering cans for kids to use). There's a cave with a sandbox (complete with bat statues hanging from... More

The arboretum is a beautiful place to visit any time of year, and they offer wonderful events for the community. It's sort of a free-stroll around. There aren't guides, but there are often volunteers there to answer questions/pass out info. They are VERY knowledgeable and eager to share what they know. There is an entire kids' area as well. Something for everyone, this place is beautiful during all seasons of the year! Fun wonderland of a playground, Childhood's Gate, for kids (and kids at heart) to have plenty to do. Also, fun fact: there's wifi here for students to do homework!!
