My wife and I took our two kids here while visiting the area. We have been to other similar spaces and were surprised to find how small this one was. My youngest son (6) had a good time but wasn't really interested in the principles behind each exhibit and just ran around playing. My older son (11) tried everything quickly and then became bored and wanted to leave. Their website advertises that it is for kids up to 14 years-old but I think that is very overestimated.
A number of the exhibits were out of service as well. I wouldn't go again.

Thank you for sharing your comments, we are very sorry your experience was less than you hoped for. As we are a growing center, we find all visitor feedback valuable and useful in planning marketing, future exhibits, and programs. We are working actively to be more interactive for older kids, and appreciate you sharing your experience with your children.

Hands on for children. A nice change from electronics. They have the opportunity to manually explore ideas and see how it works out.

Sure entertainment paired w/ education for your little ones of almost all ages. Displays alternate, with many coming from Mechanical Engineering students at neighbor, Penn State. Local gem, worth a visit and worth supporting. As all science museums, it is fun for teens and adults as well.

Great little place to spend an hour or two with the kids. Kids Under 12 - this an ideal indoor activity place! Our kids 6 and 4 enjoyed it.

We took our kids here to spend a couple of hours. As per some of the reviews, people are spending about 2 hours there. After 45 minutes, both of my kids had gone through every single center. They did it all. However were not bored at all. They kept going back to each center and trying different things. They very much enjoyed themselves and the best part, each item that they played with, they learned from. This is a great place if your kids like to touch things as we were told, if it is out there, they can pick it up, play with it and manipulate it. Perfect for my kids. The only thing that was holding this place back is that literally you can do everything in such a short time frame.

I went there with my gf. That was back in 2012 summer. We have a very good time together there. Lots of cool science toys. Staff there is very nice as well. They have tornado simulation, flight simulation, physics toys, doll house, etc.

As you may guess, there is not a lot to do in State College with kids on a rainy afternoon - if it's Sunday, and if you already missed the public skating at the ice rink! So, we headed over to the Discovery Space, with 5 kids (ages 4-12) and they all had a great time. For 2 hours straight, they each found something to do, and at the end only the promise of sticky buns motivated them to leave. We'll return!

We love this place. Our family got a membership and come back pretty frequently. If you live in the State College area I highly reccommend it to help with the cabin fever and to get some hands on science fun. It is small but they keep changing up the displays here and there to make it interesting and they offer various programs such as story time and chinese classes as weel as some others. So if you are coming to a PSU game and have sometime to kill with the kids stop by also....

We were passing through State College on a long road trip and were thrilled to find this place by chance. We spent 2 hours here and could have easily spent another hour, as our kids (ages 6 and 2) had a blast. Everything in the building is hands-on and kids can be self-directed in their play. As the name suggests, the Discovery Space is focused on science. My 6 year old was into hearing the scientific explanations as he played whereas my 2 year old just wanted to play. What's great is the Discovery Space is set up for both types of play. Others have commented that the space is small, but for me it was comparable to what I expected for a town the size of State College. I think it is a wonderful resource for the community and an awesome alternative to bouncy-house type indoor play.

Took my 2 year old granddaughter here and we spent almost 2 hours. Lots of hands on science stations and interesting for all. She loved digging for dinosaur bones.
