I was familiar with this story from the news, but our guide (Vickie, I think?) was a super hostess, and really brought the story to life. A modern day story of hard working Americans successfully fighting for their lives. It is worth your time and...More

We noticed on the Quecreek Mine Rescue web site that it was best to visit when they had a group attending as they would have a speaker for the group. Other visitors are encouraged to join the group. The web site lists the dates and...More

We stopped by on way to flight 93 memorial from Somerset. It is a very interesting park and we were surprised at how small the mine shaft was.

Miners were rescued in July 2002 from a coal mine. Very interesting exhibits. On a bus trip so time constraints seeing museum.

We visited after being at the Flight 93 memorial. Don't make a special trip as you won't be there long, but interesting none the less. There is no gift shop or tour guides. Just a few sites and signs.

We saw the road signs and decided to stop at the rescue site for a quick visit. This is self-guided and a small area. It was very interesting. Because of the size, it is a place to visit on the way to or from somewhere...More

Too see where these 9 brave miners were trapped for 4 long days and finally being rescued was amazing. The 9 trees planted in their honor.

We ended up visiting here 2 days after the 15th Anniversary. They had just had a service at the site. Some retired coal miners were visiting on motorbikes. Emotional for them as you could see it in their eyes.
