I've been to the Strasburg Railroad at least 20 times over the course of the last 40 years. It's always a pleasure, it's always fun. It's a throwback to the great era of steam trains. The PA railroad museum is right next door and it's right in the middle of lots of fun things to do in the Lancaster, PA... More

My 5 year old son and I had an absolutely wonderful time on the Santa Train. The train ride was great, Santa was very nice and gave my son a gift, there were singers and musicians on the train as well. There was also a storytime caboose and a tinsel trolley ride that was so much fun. All of the... More

Went during Thomas train weekend when area was packed with hundreds of thousands of families with little children. We enjoyed kid experiences as well as adult steam trains. Strasburg RR staff were superb. Professional, patient. Informative. They did their jobs well and share their passion with visitors.

We drove by on our way to Lancaster and stopped just to have a look. I didn't expect much, but it was surprisingly interesting. The trains are in speed condition and you can tell on the personnel that they love their trains. Definitely worth a visit when in the neighborhood.

My son is a train enthusiast and loved everything about this experience. The guide is wonderful on the trip and tells you a lot about the area. The shops are great and had a variety of items. He wants to return in spring with his grandfather!

This is the second time I've visited the Strasburg Railroad. This time was for a ride on Thomas the Tank Engine. I'd previously been scared away by hearing horror stories of lines and masses of people. There are a lot of people, but it all flows rather smoothly. Bring your $ for souvenirs.
