It sounds proverbial by now, but the Strasburg Scenic Rail really is like a trip through time. The refurbished, original rail cars (from the 1800s), rolling through the farmland of the Amish country, truly gives riders the feel of how it was like way back when the rail was the only way to get anywhere in a hurry. It's a... More

Took a ride on the L.O.& S. self propelled motor car last week. The ride was relaxing and informative with a few short stops a long the way. You go 4.5 miles one way, stop and go back the same 4.5 miles to the station. The large trains start running regularly soon. Our engineer/conductor was friendly and professional thru out... More

Visited in winter, so the larger trains were not running. Went on a small car instead. The ride takes you straight through the farmlands and you get an opportunity to see so much more of this beautiful place. Even saw a bald eagle nest!

A nice, but kind of short, ride in a train. Great for kids. It would have been better if they went in a loop rather than going back the same way we had come from.

If you're going to be in the Lancaster or Strasburg area this Strasburg Railway is not to be missed! My son loves to go there - there's lots of trains both big and small and it's very very fun for families. Plan to spend about 3 hours there, more if you take the train ride

We stopped here on our way to Lancaster for our 2 year old daughter. She loves trains and couldn't wait to take a ride! The train ride was comfortable in coach and just the right length of time. We stayed longer than i thought we would. We sat out by the train and ate our lunch from the cafe... and... More

We stayed at the RED CABOOSE and decided to take the short drive to see the trains. We then decided to buy tickets and took the train ride which was very pleasant. The cars are very comfy and in great condition. We enjoyed the fact that we could also open the window for some fresh air. The things we learned... More

We've been riding the Strasburg Railroad for nearly 30 years. The property is always very well cared for, neat and presentable. The train cars are clean and comfortable and always in great condition. The staff is pleasant and helpful. There are many price options for customers to choose from, from the open air car which we rode on this unseasonably-warm... More
